Finished in Alpine green with gold decals, this very rare Mini 1275 GTS was imported by the vendor in 2020 when it was subject to extensive body restoration and has remained as part of a private collection since. The Mini 1275 GTS built by British Leyland in South Africa. It was a heavily tweaked Mini variant with increased bore, shortened stroke, highly polished combustion chamber, cross drilled crank, added aluminium pistons and new steel-alloy valves built specifically for the South African race market where it won almost everything in its class for the next 15 years. Between 1971 and 1979, only 4,200 GTS models were built and less than 100 remain today.
The vendor has applied for UK registration and the V5 details will be updated on receipt. It comes with NOVA registration, South African clearance document and Certificate of Authenticity. The odometer records 49,366 miles
